The Werkself, reduced to ten men on 32 minutes with the dismissal of Lucas Alario, suffered a 2-0 defeat at the RheinEnergie Stadium. Yuya Osako (9') and Simon Zoller (69') scored for the hosts to secure a deserved victory. The defeat takes Bayer 04 down to fifth place in the Bundesliga.
