Midfielder Jonas Hofmann joined Bayer 04 for the start of the 2023/24 season. The Germany international arrived from league rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach and he signed a contract at Leverkusen to 2027. "We have been looking at Jonas for some time," said sporting managing director Simon Rolfes. "Thanks to his vision, his excellent technical skills as well as his experience, he is the type of player we were looking to add to our squad."

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls, Bayer 04 again joins in with the Orange Your City campaign. On Monday, 25 November, the BayArena will be lit up in orange between 17.00 and 22.00 CET. It is traditional on this day to have other significant buildings in Leverkusen lit up in orange.

Bayer 04 player Jonas Hofmann is one of ten people invited to contribute to the exhibition 'sein & haben' (to be & to have) at Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen. The exhibition is set to open on Sunday 19 November. On this Wednesday evening there will be an exclusive preview for invited guests at Museum Morsbroich.
