#Morethanfootball: Social Inclusion Action Day

This year's #Morethanfootball Action Weeks have been going for two weeks and Bayer 04 have joined in with a range of activities. The day of action on Good Friday is being held under the heading of social inclusion. A subject that is very important to Bayer 04 and has a long tradition particularly in the form of the disabled football provision of 'Einfach Fußball'. It is natural that Bayer 04 highlight the socially inclusive character of football on this day.

This year's Bayer 04 ambassadors for the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks are Lukas Hradecky, Nina Brüggemann and Emrehan Gedikli plus Marvin Kruse who has brought the #Morethanfootball idea to life at the Werkself for many years: "It feels like I've been part of the Einfach Fußball team at Bayer 04 forever. During that time I've made a lot of new friends, been able to complete a course as a Young Coach in disabled football and even do a placement at the club. It is clear to me: Bayer 04 are #morethanfootball.”

Leverkusen's Einfach Fußball team have not been able to train at the Kurtekotten Performance Centre for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The annual tournament could not take place either. But for Marvin and his teammates that is no reason to neglect their common hobby. There has been online training for several months – under the direction of Young Coach Marvin.

Derby tickets available: Women's home matches on open sale

Three of the Werkself's next four matches in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga are at home at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium. All fans now have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the upcoming home games. Bayer 04 Leverkusen have appointed the Spaniard Gerard Roca as Head of Coaching/Methodology for the U16 to U19 youth teams. The 31-year-old most recently worked as coordinator of the Catalan national football teams and was previously instrumental in the successful youth development at the Spanish club CF Damm.
