Brilliant U14 performance in Holland
The Bayer 04 U14 team beat Chelsea and Ajax on the way to winning a top international tournament in 's-Gravenzande .
The trip to the tournament in the Dutch venue of 's-Gravenzande proved to be really worth it for the younger youth team. "Passion and fun in playing were absolutely top," declared coach Mirko Casper when the team picked up the winners' trophy after earning a deserved 2-0 victory in the final against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The Werkself lads showed their true value in the previous rounds. With six wins, including against FC Bruges (4-0), VfL Wolfsburg (2-0) and Chelsea (1-0) plus a draw, Leverkusen qualified as group winners for the semi-final.
The Werkself close fought game against Ajax came down to a penalty shootout where the U14s held their nerve to win 4-3. They didn't need that in the final. Bayer 04 earned a deserved 2-0 victory against Gladbach.

One week after the derby was abandoned, the Werkself continue their winning run in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga. Coach Roberto Pätzold's team won 2-0 at TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday afternoon, mainly thanks to a strong second half, to record their fifth consecutive victory. Loreen Bender (75’) and Vanessa Fudalla (82’) scored for Bayer 04 at the Dietmar Hopp Stadium and Leverkusen now have twelve points from five games.

Bayer 04 Women: Derby to be replayed on Thursday
The abandoned Bundesliga derby between the Bayer 04 Women and FC Köln has been rescheduled for Thursday, 16 October with the kick-off at 18:00 CEST. This was announced by the German Football Association (DFB) on Saturday following a decision by the DFB Sports Tribunal. The match at the Franz Kremer Stadium on Sunday 5 October was abandoned with the score at 1-0 to the hosts due to floodlight failure.
