#B04eSports: Into second double matchday as league leaders

After last week's successful start to the VBL, the action continues for the #B04eSports players: The Bayer 04 console players have their next double matchday in the VBL Club Championship on Tuesday night, 16 November. It starts at 18.00 CET with the game against VfL Bochum 1848 and that is followed two hours later with an encounter with Hannover 96.

There could hardly have been a better start to the new season in the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) for the Black and Reds: A 5-2 win against Holstein Kiel was followed later on the evening by a 9-0 victory against Schalke 04. That means the Werkself eSports players are currently top of the North West division on 14 points.

mid-table opposition

Bayer 04's opponents Bochum and Hannover are next to each other in the table: VfL are currently seventh with seven points and Hannover 96 are in eighth place with one point less.

At the same time, the team from Lower Saxony have only played once. They had to be spectators on the second matchday due to the unequal number of teams. "They started well against Wolfsburg. There will be more tight and exciting clashes," warned Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ de Cae, who started on Xbox and won both one-on-one encounters for openers.

matches live on Twitch

All games involving the #B04eSports players will be streamed live as usual on the Bayer 04 Twitch channel.

Werkself Review #B04FCB: 'Played with structure, passion and power'

After full time in the 1-1 draw against FC Bayern Munich, the Bayer 04 fans first had to catch their breath. Firstly because of their usual loud support, and secondly because of the great drama they'd witnessed on the pitch: three disallowed goals, two red cards and a Werkself side who "again produced a very good performance against strong opponents", as head coach Kasper Hjulmand described. The Dane was particularly enthused by the performance of young Montrell Culbreath, while Patrik Schick got to enjoy his 200th appearance under the Cross. The Werkself Review unpacks the action.
