Will the top trump from last season bring the Black and Reds the next points? Of all 13 clubs in the North West division, Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ de Cae and Co. have conceded the fewest goals (19). "A strong defence is a reflection of each player in our squad," said de Cae who will, as usual, start on the Xbox Series S/X.

Leverkusen, in fifth place, play third-placed Werder Bremen from 18.00 CET. De Cae meets Ali ‘PREDATORFIFA’ Oskoui Rad on Xbox.

first outing against Rostock

Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr and his Leverkusen teammates play Hansa Rostock for the first time ever in the VBL later on in the evening (20.00 CET). The club from the Baltic coast are taking part in the official eSports competition for the first time this season. "Hansa Rostock have had an outstanding first season in the VBL so far. We are happy about every club that decides to take part in the VBL and thereby increase the value of the competition," said Florian Dederichs, head of internationalisation and eSports at Bayer 04. Rostock are currently ninth on 26 points.

New seating for the BayArena - donation and reuse of existing seats

A fresh look for the BayArena: The Bayer 04 stadium will have new seating in the form of folding seats for the 2026/27 campaign that will ensure significantly improved seating comfort and simplified movement within the rows of seats. As part of routine replacement after 17 years, fans of the Werkself were able to purchase the existing seats, used to witness the first German league title in the club's history. In addition, a large proportion of the seats will be donated to charitable projects, primarily in the local region. Bayer 04 fans can look forward to new, functional folding seats for the season opener at the beginning of August - still in the club colours of black and red, of course.
