With over 2,500 participants, the French winger had the most votes with 26.9%. The 21-year-old just pipped last year's winner Kai Havertz (25.2%). The new Werkself captain Charles Aránguiz came in third with exactly 12% of the votes.
"It means a lot to me that I was able to thrill the Bayer 04 fans in my first season. This award is a great honour for me. It motivates me to give everything for the Werkself in the coming season," said Moussa Diaby, highly delighted with the title.
Bayer 04 again provided great prizes for Bayer 04 Club members who took part in the vote. The main winner, Charles M. from Leverkusen can look forward to receiving the shirt of his namesake Charles Aránguiz worn in the Europa League game against Rangers. Absolutely unique – including the 'Thank you' lettering above the badge. Very fitting that the Leverkusener also voted for the young Frenchman: "The decisive factor with Moussa Diaby for me was his development into a spectacular attacker. His fast pace in combination with his dribbling ability excited me. I'm very happy that my vote for him turned out to win the main prize."
In addition, Claudia C. from Bergisch Gladbach won the new home shirt and David W. from Remscheid the new away shirt. On top of that, Bayer 04 gave away four vouchers for €19.04 at the Bayer 04 shop. The winners have already been informed. Bayer 04 offer congratulations and wish all the winners lots of fun with the prizes.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen will have to manage without centre-back Edmond Tapsoba in the coming weeks. The Burkina Faso international returned to the Werkself from the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco with a muscle injury.

However, that should not scare the Werkself: Not only was the last defeat against the newly promoted team 17 games ago, but Kasper Hjulmand's players are in with a chance of securing their fifth win in six games against HSV.
