After an exciting season, the Bundesliga looked for the top players in an online fan poll. 40 candidates were selected according to official match data based on their performances over the course of the season. The result was a best eleven in a 4-3-3 line-up of players receiving the most votes per position.
Kai Havertz came out on top in the midfield section alongside Filip Kostic (Eintracht Frankfurt), Marco Reus and Jadon Sancho (both Borussia Dortmund). Julian Brandt received the most votes in the attack section. He impressed the fans along with Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) and Luka Jovic (Eintracht Frankfurt).
Former Werkself player Danny Da Costa (Eintracht Frankfurt), Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) plus Marcel Halstenberg (RB Leipzig) in defence along with Kevin Trapp (Eintracht Frankfurt) in goal complete the 'Team of the Season'.
The partnership of the Bundesliga and EA Sports sees Havertz and Brandt also included in the starting line-up for FUT 19 Bundesliga Team of the Season. And EA Sports also include Kevin Volland in the squad.
A perfect start: Bayer 04 striker Alejo Sarco led Argentina to their first three points with a brace in the opening game of the U20 World Cup in Chile. The 19-year-old, who has been at Leverkusen since January, scored twice in the 3-1 win over Cuba on Monday night (CEST) to give Argentina a 2-0 lead at the break. His performance earned him the "Player of the Match" award after the game.
