Bayer 04 expressly warn about buying tickets on the unauthorised resale market, as trading tickets on online platforms like Viagogo or eBay is forbidden. "Offering tickets on unauthorised platforms is not permitted in accordance with our general ticketing terms and conditions. Tickets bought on such platforms are often overpriced and may not even be valid," as Bayer 04 ticketing manager Tobias Fernau explained. It is possible fans may not get into the BayArena using those tickets!
Bayer 04 have been proactive on behalf of fans against the unofficial ticket resale market for several years. The aim of this approach is to combat and limit the uncontrolled trading of tickets – in particular to protect our own fans as well as all visitors to the stadium. The segregation of rival fans and the exclusion of potentially violent visitors to the stadium are not possible with the resale of tickets via the unofficial ticket resale market. Beyond that, Bayer 04 are looking to guarantee providing fans with tickets at reasonable prices as part of a social and fair price structure.
Even if a game is sold out: It is always worth looking at our ticket exchange at ticketshop.bayer04.de. Here, fans who are unable to attend matches have the chance to resell their tickets legally at the original price.
Where Bayer 04 fans have paid above the face value for a home game ticket at the BayArena, there has been the option since the 2017/18 season to anonymously deposit the ticket in a collecting box after the game. Using the deposited tickets, Bayer 04 will investigate and take legal action against the reseller. The collecting boxes are located in three places in and around the BayArena: At the fan container, at the service centre OST as well as the service centre WEST.
