Fans of the Werkself can now regularly access exclusive content on their favourite club in Black and Red on the platform under the handle @bayer04. This includes spectacular images from the BayArena and of Bayer 04 players as you've never seen them before.
The TikTok platform is a popular video portal and now one of the strongest growing social media platforms worldwide. "We have consciously added TikTok to our platforms to appeal to a new and young target group at home and abroad with creative content and to attract their enthusiasm for us," explained Holger Tromp, communications director at Bayer 04. The club is happy to make use of the high entertainment factor of the platform and its popularity with a very young target audience without ignoring the provision of information.

With the TikTok launch, Bayer 04 are now represented on all major social media platforms. In addition to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Giphy and Soundcloud plus the Chinese platforms Sina Weibo and WeChat, Bayer 04 have also been on LinkedIn since March 2020. Bayer have a total of 14 platforms providing information in four languages to around six million followers worldwide and that puts the club in the top four in the Bundesliga.

The Werkself began 2026 with defeat, losing 4-1 at home to VfB Stuttgart on Matchday 16 of the 2025/26 Bundesliga. Jamie Leweling opened the scoring early, with Maximilian Mittelstädt making it 2-0 from a penalty before Leweling again and Deniz Undav increased the lead to 4-0 just before half-time. Alejandro Grimaldo's penalty reduced the deficit midway through the second period.
