Guéla Doué joined Bayer 04 at the end of the 2026 summer transfer window. The 1.87-metre-tall right-back arrived from French top-flight side Racing Strasbourg. Doué, who played in four out of five matches for the Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup in North America, signed a contract in Leverkusen running until 30 June 2031. Guéla Doué is the older brother – by two years – of French world-class star Désiré Doué.
