Women: Klink and Barth agree new deals
A clear commitment that sends out a signal: Anna Klink and Merle Barth have agreed contract extensions at Bayer 04 Women – regardless of the division the team under coach Verena Hagedorn are in next season.
"We are happy Anna and Merle have decided to stay at Bayer 04," said Linda Peckhaus, director of the Women's section.
Anna Klink (22) and Merle Barth, who celebrated her 23rd birthday on Friday, progressed through the youth teams at Bayer 04 and have been at the club since 2009. Both are regulars in the Bundesliga team with Klink in goal and Barth as a versatile player in defence, midfield and attack. On Sunday, the duo will be in the Leverkusen side in Sinsheim looking to pick up points against TSG Hoffenheim in the battle to stay in the top division of the Allianz Women's Bundesliga.

There were no goals across 115 minutes of football between Bayer 04 Women and PSV Eindhoven in Friday’s friendly. Roberto Pätzold’s team played two 45-minute periods before an extra 25 minutes two days prior to heading to Rieden for their training camp. Debuts for Mädl and Wamser: Women win friendly against Westerlo
Two debuts, a maiden goal and a clear-cut victory: Bayer 04 Women turned in a convincing display in the first friendly of the second phase of pre-season. Roberto Pätzold’s team beat KVC Westerlo 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. New signings Valentina Mädl and Carlotta Wamser made their debuts for the Werkself. Mädl scored her first goal after nine minutes. Loreen Bender (26’) and Vanessa Fudalla (54’) too found the net in the duel with the Belgian side.

Including two more home games: Women's team season card for the 2025/26 season
The open sale of season cards for the Werkself home games in the new Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga season has started. The season ticket is valid for all 13 games at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium including the match against the champions of Germany Bayern Munich and the derby against FC Köln. The first home game is against Union Berlin on Monday, 15 September (18:00 CEST).

Register now: Fan trip to Women's opening fixture at the Allianz Arena
A record stage for the Bayer 04 Women in Munich – and Werkself fans can see the game live. When the new season in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga is officially opened on Saturday, 6 September (17:45 CEST) the Leverkusen women will be playing against Bayern Munich in front of 30,000 spectators at the Allianz Arena. It is already certain that so many fans have never before been at a home game for the double winners from Munich. And the Black and Reds have never played in front of that many fans before either and they will be looking for the backing of their own support. Bayer 04 offers fans a bus tour for the opening fixture with overnight accommodation.
