"It's a great sign that another player from our academy is knocking on the door of the Bundesliga squad," said Achim Feifel, Bayer 04 Women sporting director. "We want to carefully prepare Ida for the level and the intensity of the Bundesliga. She's a player with tremendous willingness, who works hard on herself and pursues clear goals." He also described Daedelow as "a very hard-running player with high resilience".
Daedelow moved to Leverkusen from SC Blau-Weiß 06 Köln in 2019 and passed through the U13, U15 and U17 teams, winning the U17 Bundesliga title with the latter in 2023. She's also made five appearances for the Germany U16 side. She's been a permanent fixture in the Bayer 04 Women's training group during the current pre-season.
"My grandad used to work at Bayer, so to sign a professional contract at Bayer 04 means a lot to me," said Daedelow, who's been given the number 30 shirt. "Since I started here, I've got closer and closer to the first team. It's a great feeling to now get there. I'm not going to shy away and I want to make my Bundesliga debut this year."

The meeting between fifth and sixth on Saturday afternoon (17 January, 15:30 CET) is a hard one to predict. While the Werkself can take confidence from their historic record at TSG Hoffenheim, the hosts are currently enjoying their second-best Bundesliga campaign and have lost just one of their last 10 games. Another good omen for Bayer 04: Daniel Schlager also refereed Leverkusen's last victory in Sinsheim (4-1). The Matchday News.
