Shoulder separation: Charlotte Voll suffers fresh injury

Bayer 04 Women goalkeeper Charlotte Voll has been hit by injury again. The 26-year-old suffered an acromioclavicular joint separation in her left shoulder in the latter stages of the Bundesliga match at SC Freiburg on Monday and is set to be sidelined for a number of months. She underwent successful surgery in Düsseldorf on Friday.

Voll collided with teammate Lilla Turanyi in the 86th minute when Freiburg scored to make it 2-1 and then had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher. It's the latest serious injury for the goalkeeper, who was sidelined for months in June 2024 after an operation on her right shoulder and missed several weeks last May after tearing the syndesmosis in her right foot. Voll will complete her rehab at the Werkstatt, the training and rehabilitation centre at the BayArena.
