The draw was made during the Sky programme "Skylights: Die #SkySportShow", with former German-Italian footballer Valentina Maceri pulling out the names, overseen by DFB director of professional football and long-time Bayer 04 sporting director Rudi Völler. The Werkself saw off SV 07 Elversberg 5-0 in the first round last Sunday, while HSV won 3-0 at 1. FC Magdeburg.
The winners in the last 16 will go through to the quarter-finals, to be played on 11 and 12 March 2026. The final four will contest the semi-finals between 4 and 6 April, while the final will take place on 14 May 2026, as usual at Cologne's RheinEnergieSTADION.
