"Marlene is a very strong player, full of running, versatile and can be deployed on both flanks as well as in attacking midfield. With her team-orientated style of play, she not only excels defensively by winning a lot of balls, but also has the ability to score herself," said Achim Feifel, Sporting Director of Bayer 04 Women: "With this profile, she is extremely valuable for every team and also clearly strengthens our squad."
Born in Berlin, she played for RB Leipzig from 2020 and was an undisputed regular first choice in recent years. She has scored five goals in 66 Bundesliga games for Leipzig, including three this season. Prior to that, Müller scored a total of 42 goals in 122 second division games for RBL and her former team FFC Turbine Potsdam II.
"I'm looking forward to the new challenge at Bayer 04," said Müller: "The team has continuously improved over the past few years. I want to use my versatility, my pace and my dribbling to ensure that development continues."

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have extended Abdoulaye Faye’s contract by a further year to 30 June 2031. During the 2026/27 season, the talented defender will play for Celta Vigo on loan without an option to buy. The 21-year-old Senegalese is set to feature in La Liga and the UEFA Europa League with last season’s sixth-placed side in Spain.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have agreed Kerim Alajbegovic’s transfer to Italian record champions Juventus. The club brought the 18-year-old attacking player back to Leverkusen this summer via a buy-back option, following a season at Red Bull Salzburg. Until his move to Austria, the Bosnia international had been playing for Bayer 04’s Under-19s.
