Bayer 04 Leverkusen has extended the contract with Germany youth international Loreen Bender. The 19-year-old forward has signed a new contract with the Werkself running to 2027.

"Although she is still very young, Loreen can make the difference on the pitch at any time with an individual action," said Achim Feifel, sporting director of the Bayer 04 Women's team: "We all know about her individual quality, which she has shown many times and will demonstrate even more often in the future. Her contract extension is an important component of our long-term squad planning."

In 18 Bundesliga matches for Bayer 04 to date, the Hanau-born player has scored two goals. Playing for the Germany U20 team in last summer's World Championship, Bender scored four goals in four appearances. In October, the German Football Association (DFB) awarded the offensive player the gold Fritz Walter Medal in the Women's U19 category.

"It was easy to make the decision. I feel really good at Bayer 04 and I'm convinced I can develop here to the maximum," said Bender who joined Bayer 04 from the youth set-up at Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023: "I hope we can make it into Europe this season. Anything is possible with this team."
