2024 summer agenda for Bayer 04 Women

The Bayer 04 Women's team finished sixth on 31 points in the 2023/24 season in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga. The players then started a four-week break. Preparations for the new campaign begin in the middle of June under new coach Roberto Pätzold. Bayer04.de brings you key dates in the summer timetable.

Three friendlies in the first part of the pre-season and a two-week break are followed by an eight-day training camp for the Leverkusen Women's team in Katowice in Poland. That will then be followed by another three friendlies against European opponents. The 2024/25 Bundesliga season begins at the end of August. The Werkself Women will then be involved in the second round of the DFB Pokal a week later.

Key dates in the summer:

  • 17 June: Training starts at the Kurtekotten Performance Centre (09.30 CEST)
  • 29 June: Friendly against FSV Gütersloh (Kick-off: 12.00 CEST, Kurtekotten Performance Centre)
  • 6 July: Friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt (Kick-off: 14.00 CEST, Kurtekotten Performance Centre)
  • 12 July: Friendly at Borussia Mönchengladbach (Kick-off: 18.00 CEST)
  • 13 July – 25 July: Break from training
  • 26 July: Pre-season restarts at the Kurtekotten Performance Centre (TBA)
  • 29 July – 5 August: Training camp in Katowice/Poland with friendly against Czarni Sosnowiec on 31 July
  • 10 August: Friendly at RSC Anderlecht (Kick-off: TBA)
  • 17 August: Friendly at Standard Liege (Kick-off: TBA)
  • 23 August: Friendly against Fortuna Sittard (Kick-off: TBA, Kurtekotten Performance Centre)
  • 30 August – 1 September: Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga starts
  • 7/8 September: Round two of the DFB Pokal

Trophy Tour in Brazil – Bayer 04's special connection with Brazil

In keeping with the Trophy Tour in Brazil starting today, Bayer04.de looks back at the long-standing link between the Werkself and Brazilian players. The list is long as well as impressive. 24 Brazilian players have worn the Bayer 04 Leverkusen jersey from 1987 to the present day. Tita was the first under the Bayer Cross having come to Germany after ten years at top Brazilian clubs Vasco da Gama, Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and Gremio Porto Alegre. He played a crucial part in the Werkself winning their first major trophy in that season: the UEFA Cup in 1988.
