As was the case a fortnight ago in the last league match at VfL Wolfsburg (3-1), the Werkself will also face a team in Augsburg where the head coach recently had to resign. Manuel Baum has replaced Sandro Wagner in the dugout for the game on Saturday and he will remain in charge up to the end of the year.
"When a change of coach happens, sometimes everyone at a club pulls a bit closer together. But it doesn't have such a big impact on us, in the build-up we focus and concentrate 80 to 90 per cent on our own game. The rest relates to the opponents and the associated individual tactical issues," said Kasper Hjulmand at the press conference on Friday lunchtime.
When asked about the many must-win duels and treble-fixture weeks, Hjulmand, whose team will be supported by 1,700 travelling fans at the WWK Arena, said: "We're not tired, we love games. Of course, an away game at Augsburg is always difficult and intense. They've shown against Bayern (2-3, ed,), Dortmund (0-1) and Stuttgart (2-3) that they can hold their own against top teams. We're absolutely ready and we’ll give our all again tomorrow right to the end." It is "very important to keep clocking up points in the last games of the year".
