After a mixed start to the season, Bayer 04 travel to Borussia Park in Mönchengladbach on matchday nine in the 2017/18 season. It is Saturday 21 October 2017. Borussia take the lead on seven minutes and deservedly retain the lead to half-time. Bayer 04 coach Heiko Herrlich brings on Julian Brandt in place of Lucas Alario and within 15 minutes the Werkself have turned the 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead with goals from Sven Bender, Leon Bailey and Julian Brandt.
