Together with Daggi Meiss, a coach at TSV Bayer 04, Braun created a 45-minute workout for the players. “It was important to me that the whole body is involved in the exercises and that elements of coordination are also included. The lads will get a high-intensity session that will also involve them using their heads,” Braun explained. Around 40 players joined in the session from home via a livestream broadcast.
The daily training routine for the youth players currently consists of all-round drills. At the beginning of the week, Braun circulates a plan that includes running, stabilisation and fitness exercises. The online session represents a successful change. “There’s been a very good response from the youth players, ” Braun reported. “We want to repeat it a couple of times.”
