Former Werkself player Hüzeyfe Doğan is new U19 assistant coach
An experienced addition to the Bayer 04 U19 coaching staff: Former Werkself player Hüzeyfe Doğan starts as assistant coach to Sergi Runge on 1 August.
Former Germany youth player Doğan moved up to the Leverkusen first team squad in 2000 after winning the Germany U19 league title with Bayer 04. He went on to play in Bundesliga 2 and the third division for many years including with Union Berlin and SC Paderborn.
After ending his playing career in 2018, the now 44-year-old took up coaching and in 2022/23 he led Wuppertaler SV to second place in the Regional League West.

Rüdiger Vollborn has been at the club for 40 years, he holds the record number of Bundesliga appearances for the club (401) and is the only Bayer 04 player to have won both the UEFA Cup (1988) and the DFB Pokal (1993).
