
U15 Regional League West: MSV Duisburg v Bayer 04 U15 1-2
The U15s had to work hard to secure a narrow away win in Duisburg. Playing against a well-organised opponent who kept it very tight at the back, the Leverkusen visitors took the lead in added time in the first half through Alexander Höck (35 +1’).
MSV refused to give up, sought to create chances and succeeded in drawing level at 1-1 in the second half (54’). However, It was clear the Bayer 04 U15s were again full of determination as they went in search of three points.
As in the first half the reward came right at the end when Christopher Scott netted the much celebrated strike to make it 2-1 in the final minute of the game. The U15s have bolstered their third place in the Regional League West with 34 points.
U14 Youth Cup: VfL Bochum v Bayer 04 U14 1-6
The U14s continue their run through the Youth Cup without a problem. The clear victory at Bochum was the 15th win in 16 unbeaten games. Jannis Fissl but the superior visitors on track on three minutes.
Christian Schwierin (19') and Emrehan Gedikli (31') made it 3-0 before the un-cowed Bochum side pulled a goal back on 34 minutes. The Werkself restored the three-goal lead on 40 minutes with a strike from Okan Keskin.
The U14s eased off in the second half but still managed to increase the lead through an own goal on 49 minutes and another strike from Gedikli just before the hour mark to claim a deserved three points.

Today sees Bayer 04 go head-to-head with their next direct rivals in the race for Champions League qualification (kick-off 15:30 CEST). Opponents Stuttgart are currently fifth in the table, level on points with the Werkself but one place below them due to a three-goal inferior goal difference. The Black and Reds' record at Bad Cannstatt tells a clearer story: they've not lost at VfB for over 16 years. One important factor in securing what would be three crucial points away from home is Leverkusen's strength on the counter-attack.
