Women’s team: Arfaoui joins FC Nürnberg

Midfielder Amira Arfaoui is leaving Bayer 04 Leverkusen with immediate effect to play for FC Nürnberg who are currently next to bottom in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga.

The 24-year-old joined Leverkusen from Servette FCCF in her home country of Switzerland in the summer of 2021 and she went on to make 56 appearances and score five goals for the Bayer 04 Women’s team. This season she played nine games in the Bundesliga and two in the DFB-Pokal off the bench. Arfaoui was in the Switzerland squad at the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand but did not play.

“We are grateful for her commitment, performances in our shirt and her motivation for the club, ” said Achim Feifel, sporting director of the Bayer 04 Women’s team: “Of course, we wish her all the best for the future in the game.”
