"Sandra has primarily impressed us with her attitude, discipline and mentality. She lives for football and has developed really well over the past few months. She is a very positive character and an absolute team player. We are all very happy that Sandra will continue to be part of our team," said head coach Achim Feifel on the decision of the 25 year-old to stay.

Jessen started playing for the Werkself Women in the second half of the 2015/16 season. The midfielder returned to Leverkusen during the winter break in 2018/19. Since returning she has played 29 games and scored two goals.
