In a repeat of the successful vaccination campaign in July, the BayArena will again be used as a vaccination site: In the hours before the Bundesliga clash with the Foals (kick-off: 18.30 CEST), all Bayer 04 fans and local citizens who have yet to be vaccinated can receive a vaccination on the east side of the BayArena in front of Block B1/2 between 15.30 and 18.30.
Registration is not required. The vaccines used are Johnson & Johnson and BioNTech/Pfizer. With the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which requires just one injection, Werkself fans have the opportunity to be fully vaccinated ahead of the next home game on 11 September.
All you need is a little time before entering the ground and your ID card as proof of identity. You can also bring your vaccination passport. If not available, vaccination passports will be available on site. The appointment for a second vaccination, where required, will be at the Leverkusen vaccination centre (Erholungshaus) at a later, arranged date. There is a 15-minute wait after the injection..
The vaccinations at the BayArena are available to all people over the age of 18. Teenagers from the age of 16 can also be vaccinated but this requires the constant presence of a legal guardian. People who have been infected with Covid-19 and where one vaccination is seen as sufficient, can also be vaccinated. After a serious case of the illness there must be a gap of at least six months and be demonstrated by a positive PCR test. Alternatively, a recuperation certificate can be shown via QR code on the coronavirus warning or coronavirus passport apps. With asymptomatic cases there must be a gap of at least four weeks between illness and vaccination.
The vaccination offer is open to anybody from other cities wishing to be vaccinated and does not require a match ticket. Travel to the BayArena is recommended as ever using the ÖPNV local transport network or by bicycle. Free parking is available at the shuttle bus car park at the Kurtekotten Performance Centre. Anybody travelling for the vaccination and/or for the game by bus should get off at the BayArena stop on Bismarckstraße. The wupsiRad bicycle loan system can also be used for travelling to and from the stadium. There are stops including right in front of the CaLevornia and the Ostermann Arena.
Bayer 04 and wupsi want to contribute through this campaign to other parts of the population having the opportunity to get vaccinated. The vaccinations are provided by Leverkusen City Council and the medical section of the Leverkusen vaccination centre. The Malteser emergency service will be on site. Any questions on the vaccination provision can be made by telephone on 0175–1949 702.
