Together under the Cross: Family matchday against Hoffenheim

Bayer 04 is once again holding its traditional family matchday, presented by main sponsor Barmenia, as part of the Werkself’s Bundesliga game at home to Hoffenheim on Saturday, 30 March. Fans can look forward to family-friendly offers, an entertainment programme with numerous play stalls and hands-on activities around the BayArena. Here’s all you need to know about the family matchday.

In addition to the familiar activities in the EVL family block, which was newly introduced for the 2023/24 season, there will be numerous stalls to participate at in the east and west areas of the BayArena during the match against Hoffenheim. From bouncy castles, to face painting and a balloon artist, the youngest Bayer 04 fans are guaranteed to get their money's worth. You can find all the activities on the overview map (see below).

Merchandise and food offers

Children in particular can also look forward to discounted Bayer 04 fan merchandise. The match collection, for example, costs €15 instead of €29.90. The 60x40 stick flag costs €5 instead of €12.90 and the Streifenelf scarf €10 instead of €16.90. Other offers include the mini away kit (€25 instead of €49.90) and the kids watch (€20 instead of €34.90).

Culinary delights are also available at family-friendly prices. A combo menu with a bratwurst and a drink is available at all kiosks in the BayArena where food is on offer for just €6.80.

Bayer 04 offered tickets for the home game against Hoffenheim at family-friendly prices (note: the game is already sold out). Matchday tours of the BayArena were also offered at reduced prices, and these are also already sold out.

The Werkself beat Olympiacos 2-0 in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League play-off first leg to claim a crucial victory in the Greek capital. After a focused first-half display with a number of presentable chances, Patrik Schick crowned a textbook counter to hand the Werkself the lead on the hour (60’). The Czech rounded off his brace when he headed in from a corner just 144 seconds later. Bayer 04 maintained their lead with aplomb to achieve a good position for the return leg in Leverkusen.

Bayer 04 and Olympiacos had only met twice before the current UEFA Champions campaign. After the encounter on Matchday 7 of this season’s league phase, the Werkself travel to face the Greek side for the second time in just four weeks for the knockout play-off first leg. The Black and Reds were dominant for large spells in mid-January but lost 2-0 after missing a number of presentable chances. #B04eSports: Bayer 04 miss out on offline round and top eight

A bitter end to the fifth showdown of the 2025/26 VBL Club Championship as the #B04eSports team failed to take any points in the three remaining matches of the preliminary online round of the fifth and final showdown, missing out on the offline round. They can no longer take points in the overall table. Bayer 04 slipped out on the top eight, so direct participation in the final event for the German Club Championship is no longer possible, with Bayer 04 having to contest the play-offs.
