There is no doubt about it: Following the 3-0 win in Karlsruhe, Bayer 04 are keen to take on the next challenge in the Cup on 24 October. And with the solid support of the fans behind the team. Union Berlin were in the running for promotion to the Bundesliga last term and are again amongst the front runners in the second division in the current campaign. That's certainly not a walkover. As the match kicks off at 18.30 CET many Werkself fans may want to rearrange their working hours on that day.
Our fan groups are already mobilising for the tie : Both NK12 and the Ultras Leverkusen have made a joint call on their websites. 'Up for the Cup – Up for Berlin' is the headline. The text itself is a passionate appeal to everyone in Leverkusen to come to the BayArena on 24 October. "Here, it's about getting up off your arse and down to the stadium. … So show our lads that you are up for the DFB Cup going through and keeping the dream alive of playing in Berlin again … Full focus on the Cup, full focus on the support and full focus on getting behind the team for our colours and the cross on the chest."

A fresh look for the BayArena: The Bayer 04 stadium will have new seating in the form of folding seats for the 2026/27 campaign that will ensure significantly improved seating comfort and simplified movement within the rows of seats. As part of routine replacement after 17 years, fans of the Werkself were able to purchase the existing seats, used to witness the first German league title in the club's history. In addition, a large proportion of the seats will be donated to charitable projects, primarily in the local region. Bayer 04 fans can look forward to new, functional folding seats for the season opener at the beginning of August - still in the club colours of black and red, of course.
