"We have reached new heights in the past year, not only in sporting terms but also off the pitch," explained Matthias Adler. "We are therefore delighted to have an ambitious and fan-approved team in our ranks in the future to continue the excellent fan work in Leverkusen. In her new role as team leader, Lucy will continue to develop the relationship between the club and fans with her self-confident demeanour and her structured, goal-oriented way of working. Together with her colleagues Sebo and Moritz, who bring a lot of experience and the necessary creativity, the three of them will form a strong team going forward." Lisa Ciupka will provide support in this area as part of her training at Bayer 04.
Meanwhile, two stalwarts of the Leverkusen fan representatives team are leaving in Andreas "Paffi" Paffrath and Rüdiger Vollborn. Both are staying with Bayer 04 in new functions, though. After more than 36 years, Paffrath is retiring from traditional matchday work and will now devote himself exclusively to the role of fan representative for diversity and inclusion. For his part, record appearance maker Vollborn will now focus exclusively on the club's history. In this context, well-known formats relating to the eventful history of Bayer 04 will be continued and new formats will be developed to delve even deeper into the history under the Cross.
As a result of these changes, the fans and sustainability division, which also includes the social affairs division, will fall directly under Bayer 04 CEO Fernando Carro.
