As usual, a best-of-three format was used. The match against Werder Bremen started with a 2 vs 2 in the first game with the Leverkusen cousins Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr and Sean ‘SEAN_LDW07’ Landwehr facing the Germany eSports player Berkay ‘BERKAYLION’ Demirci and Henning ‘HENNING’ Wilmbusse. That game ended in a 3-0 defeat from a Black and Red perspective. The first 1 vs 1 pitched Sean Landwehr against Bremen's Demirci – final score 2-2. The third game against Werder was won by Marc Landwehr with a 4-1 victory over Ilias ‘LEFTI’ Eleftherios. That meant the overall result was a fair draw.
The next opponents Holstein Kiel finished bottom of the table in the North Waste Division last season. The Landwehr cousins in the 2 vs 2 game lost 3-1 to the Storks eSports players Julius ‘JULI’ Kühl and Colin ‘COOOLLIIIN’ Völter. But the #B04eSports players secured three important points thanks to the following 1 vs 1 wins for Marc (3-1 against Völter) and Sean Landwehr (6-1 against Kühl).
Game three of the evening was against VBL CC newcomers VfL Osnabrück – the first club in the competition with a squad made up exclusively of female players. The opening 2 vs 2 game saw Leverkusen’s Mario ‘BULJI’ Lovrinovic play alongside Marc Landwehr as he made his debut in the VBL CC 2023/24. The duo were the winners against the Osnabrück players Josephine ‘PULLUJALLA’ Ojih and Vinicia ‘VINICIA_BRC’ de Oliveira Branco with a 4-2 victory. The second overall winner of the evening was sealed when ‘BULJI’ also won the following 1 vs 1 against de Oliveira Branco (5-2).
Next Tuesday, 28 November, brings another triple matchday. It starts at 17.30 CET against SC Paderborn followed by the games against Hamburg SV from 19.00 CET. The match is rounded off with a game against VBL CC newcomers Borussia Dortmund (from 20.30 CET).
