In the first match of the day on PlayStation 5, Kai ‘DETO_OFFICIAL’ Wollin faced Wolfsburg's Timo ‘TIMOX’ Siep. ‘DETO_OFFICIAL’ had more possession from the start and he created the first goalscoring opportunities. However, the Wolfsburg player was clinical in front of the net and scored two goals from three shots. Wollin deservedly pulled a goal back late on shortly after that conceded as VfL took a 3-1 lead. An annoying defeat because the shot on goal ratio at the end of the game was 11 to 4 in favour of Bayer 04.“
The second match of the day was played by Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ De Cae on Xbox One. His opponent was the Wolfsburg player Benedikt ‘BENECR7X’ Bauer. De Cae was not put off by the quick lead for the Wolves and he was able to level before the break. A brace after the restart gave De Cae a 3-1 lead. He made it 4-1 just before the end of the game.
In the doubles match, Bayer 04 again came back from being behind early on to take a 2-1 lead. However, the Wolves had the last word when they levelled at 2-2 just before the end of the game. That meant the fixture with VfL Wolfsburg ended in a 4-4 draw.
Then followed matchday 16 in the VBL against SC Paderborn 07 from 21.30 CET.
Kai ‘DETO_OFFICIAL’ Wollin played Paderborn’s Yannik ‘WILDSTYLER’ Büscher on PS5 and the Black and Reds again went behind. Wollin turned the early deficit into a 2-1 lead. But Büscher was able to level at 2-2 just before full-time.
Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ De Cae found it tough in the next encounter. His opponent Justin ‘GODLY’ Kampmeier was 2-0 up before half-time and he increased the lead to 3-0 after the restart. There was hope when Fabian pulled a goal back but then Kampmeier restored the three-goal advantage at 4-1. The following doubles match was therefore crucial to avoid losing the matchday.
The B04 duo clocked up the necessary win. Wollin and De Cae took the lead as early as the fourth minute. Kampmeier and Büscher did equalise but the Black and Reds refused to give up and scored again to make it 2-1. The lead was maintained up to the 90th minute to produce the second 4-4 scoreline of the day.
After the two matchdays, the #B04eSports-Team are still sixth in the table. The Black and Reds are back in action on 9 February on matchdays 17 and 18 with a Hamburg double matchday with games against FC St. Pauli and Hamburg SV.
Bayer 04 started the DFB-eCup club qualifiers on Sunday. Marc Landwehr (3-2) and Kai Wollin (2-1) secured a 6-0 overall win against SSV Jahn Regensburg in the first round. The exit from the competition followed in the second round after a 6-3 overall defeat (0-3, 4-2, 3-4) against the SV Meppen eSports team.

Bayer 04 have ended Artem Stepanov’s loan deal at Nürnberg and agreed a new loan to Utrecht in the Netherlands. The Ukrainian striker did not play as much as hoped for at the Bundesliga 2 club and will now continue his development in the Eredivisie for the rest of 2025/26.
