The Stanilewicz/‘deto’ duo started the competition on PlayStation 4. The Polish midfielder from the Peter Bosz squad secured a narrow 3-2 win against Darmstadt player Felix Platte. The 20-year-old faces Bochum player Ulrich Bapoah. “Of course, I’ll be trying to win. But fun comes first in this tournament,” said Stanilewicz.
Before that, the two eSports players ‘deto’ and Jan-Luca ‘Bassinho’ Bass meet. Bochum, who only joined in with the Bundesliga Home Challenge on matchday two, registration an overall win against FC Köln and lost to FC Union Berlin.
The Bundesliga Home Challenge:
As a result of the suspension of fixtures in German professional football and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the DFL has set up the Bundesliga Home Challenge. 29 of the 36 Bundesliga clubs are represented on matchday two. The teams are made up of one first-team player per club plus "one person from the relevant club or associated with it." In addition, Deniz Aytekin and Daniel Schlager make up the Bundesliga referees team.
The challenge is played in the so-called 85 mode on PlayStation 4 without an official ranking. The virtual players therefore have the same overall strength. On matchday one, 'deto' and Stanilewicz played Darmstadt 98 and matchday two saw ‘deto’ and Wendell take on the Dynamo Dresden team. Nadiem Amiri and ‘deto’ lost to VfB Stuttgart on the last matchday.
