The fixture started at 18.00 CET with the usual 2 vs 2 match. Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr and Furkan ‘FURKY’ Kayacik were on the games controllers for the Black and Reds against Kai ‘HENSOO’ Hense and Philipp ‘EISVOGEL’ Schermer. The Braunschweig duo are currently the best doubles team in the North West division with three wins. And Leverkusen were defeated 1-0 in this 2 vs 2 encounter with the Lions.

Landwehr most prolific player in the VBL CC

Landwehr was able to stave off immediate defeat in the 1 vs 1 against Hense with the game ending all square at 1-1. The Leverkusen player is currently the most prolific goalscorer in the VBL CC across divisions.

The Black and Reds could not then win on matchday five. Victory was required in the third game to take at least a point. Mario ‘BULJI’ Lovrinovic was up against Braunschweig’s Schermer - and he lost 2-1. That meant the team from Lower Saxony took all three points and are now third in the table. Leverkusen have slipped down to sixth.

Wolfsburg and Paderborn next week

Given the uneven number of clubs in the North West division, every team has to miss out one matchday. The #B04eSports players are therefore back in action on Tuesday 29 November with matchdays seven and eight. That starts at 18.00 CET with the games against VfL Wolfsburg and is followed at 19.30 CET by matches against SC Paderborn.

Results on matchday five:

Eintracht Braunschweig vs Bayer 04 (0 points)

Two vs two: 1-0

Hense against Landwehr: 1-1

Schermer against Lovrinovic: 2-1
