Gegner-Check

At the start of the online preliminary round of this second showdown, the Leverkusen eSports team picked up six points from the first four matches last Thursday, 13 November. The match report can be found HERE.

With six points, the #B04eSports team is currently in 17th place in the Showdown two table. However, the Bayer 04 eSports team is just one point behind seventh place in the tight grouping with nine teams ahead of them on the same number of points and therefore the eSports players still have qualification for the offline round in their own hands. The best 16 teams from the online preliminary round will qualify for the offline round (information on the season can be found HERE).

eSports-Tabelle Showdown 2

Karlsruher SC: Efficient and strong defence

The matchday begins with the fifth match of this online preliminary round against Karlsruher SC. In showdown one, the team finished the preliminary round in 25th place and thus missed out on a place in the offline knockout round in Leipzig. The situation is looking better in showdown two: the KSC eSports team are currently eighth in the showdown two table with six points.

In terms of their attacking prowess, they are mid-table among the 89 eSports players who have been used so far. Anton ‘EinfachAnton’ Grienko scores an average of 3.7 goals per game (37th place) and picks up 1.2 points for KSC (52nd place). Julien ‘Julien_fngk’ Fungk nets 3.2 times per game (52nd place) and secures 1.3 points in his duels (44th place). With an average of 2.4 goals conceded, he is also the fifth best defensive player. The KSC eSports players also stand out with their efficiency. They take their chances well and are ranked fifth out of the 35 clubs in this stat. Grienko, for his part, is the third most efficient individual player.

Borussia Mönchengladbach: Two Grand Final competitors in the squad

They finished fourteenth in the online preliminary round of showdown one and were knocked out of the offline knockout round at the Round of 16 stage by FC St. Pauli. They are currently in 25th place in the showdown two table with four points from the four matches they played last Thursday.

Jannis ‘jistennsq’ Pütz - who reached the last 16 of the VBL Grand Final by WOW last season - scores an average of 2.8 goals per game (69th place) and pick up 1.1 points in his duels (57th place). Lukas ‘lukas_official11’ Wolff is more accurate. He nets four times on average (25th place) and secures 1.2 points per game (53rd place). He also reached the last 16 of the Grand Final last season. The season before that, he even reached the quarter-finals of the German Individual Championships. His opponent back then was Marc Landwehr, who went on to reach the semi-finals and was one of the four best eSports players in Germany that year.
