DFB Pokal: Werkself play Elversberg on a Tuesday

The fixture details for the second round of the DFB Pokal 2024/25 have been confirmed. The home tie for Bayer 04 against second division SV 07 Elversberg is on Tuesday, 29 October with the kick off at 18.00 CET (live on Sky). That was announced by the German Football Association (DFB) on Thursday.

The match at the BayArena is being played in between the Bundesliga matches for the Werkself away to Werder Bremen and at home to VfB Stuttgart. The Werkself beat FC Carl Zeiss Jena, top the table in the Regional League North East, 1-0 in the first round of the DFB Pokal.

Tickets are exclusively available to Bayer 04 Club members and season card holders from 17 September (12.00 CEST).

The Round of 16 in the DFB Pokal will be played on 3/4 December. The quarter-finals follow on 4/5 and on 25/26 February 25 with the semi-finals set for 1/2 April 2025. The final at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin is on 24 May 2025.

The Bayer 04 Women have kept their chance of qualifying for the Champions League alive in the Bundesliga run-in. Coach Roberto Pätzold's team won 4-0 at SGS Essen on Sunday afternoon, improving their record from last season to 14 wins this term. With 43 points, the Werkself equalled another record from the 2024/25 season and at the same time reduced the gap to third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt to two points, at least for tonight. Loreen Bender (4’), Kristin Kögel (41’, 68’) and Cornelia Kramer (89’) scored for the Black and Reds, who dominated the game to record their fourth win on the bounce.
