
The match against SG Sonnenhof Großaspach will be the first game for Bayer 04 in the 2025/26 campaign. Managing director sport Simon Rolfes shared his views on the draw: "We will definitely face a highly motivated opponent in SG Sonnenhof Großaspach and we will have to take them very seriously. We want to start the season with a win. Our target is to go a long way in this competition again."
The second round in the DFB Pokal is on 29/30 October, the Round of 16 ties will be played on 3/4 December. The quarter-finals follow on 4/5 and 25/26 February 2026. The semi-finals are due to be played on 1/2 April. The final at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin will be played on 24 May.
