“We’re looking forward to a home game against Nürnberg at the BayArena. They’re a top opponent, a top team in Bundesliga 2. We need to and will approach the game with high concentration so we can progress to the round of 16,” said managing director sport Simon Rolfes of the draw.
Germany legend Bastian Schweinsteiger selected the balls for the draw. The three remaining teams from outside the top two divisions were in their own pot and drawn first at home to one of the other 29 professional teams. Then all the other teams were pulled out of the main pot to complete the pairings.
The round of 16 is scheduled for 1/2 December. The quarter-finals will then be on 2/3 and 9/10 February 2027, before the semis on 20/21 April and the final in Berlin on 29 May.
