In mid-August, the Werkself will set off on a four-day trip to England to play their final two friendly matches of the 2026/27 pre-season against Premier League clubs Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United. The match in Nottingham against the Tricky Trees is on Wednesday 12 August at 20:45 CEST (19:45 BST) at the City Ground. The game against the Magpies in Newcastle is on Saturday 15 August at 16:00 CEST (15:00 BST) at the atmospheric St James’ Park. Details on ticket sales for both matches.

With the official unveiling of the new away kit, Bayer 04 Leverkusen are setting the first marker for the upcoming 2026/27 season. The jersey, produced by kit supplier New Balance, which the Werkself will wear on the road in search for away wins the Bundesliga, the DFB Pokal and the UEFA Europa League, is a stylish and modern expression of a club steeped in tradition.

One ticket, two matches – and a varied programme of events, including appearances by players from the professional teams: Bayer 04 has come up with something very special for the 2026 season launch on Saturday, 8 August. From morning right through to the evening, Werkself fans can use just one ticket to not only enjoy top-class football from the Bayer 04 teams live, but also to experience unforgettable moments with the whole family through a variety of hands-on activities around the BayArena and the Ulrich Haberland Stadium. The day will also end on a real high note: after both matches, Bayer 04 supporters will have the opportunity to interact directly with the players during joint activities and get to know them from a different angle.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen usher in the final phase of their pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 campaign with a friendly against Premier League side Nottingham Forest. The Werkself face the “Tricky Trees” on 12 August at 20.45 CEST (7.45 pm local time) at the City Ground, home to the storied English club. Head coach Carles Martínez’s side will then travel further north, where they will face Forest's league rivals Newcastle United to round off their tour of England. The match against the team featuring Germany internationals Nick Woltemade and Malik Thiaw takes place on Saturday 15 August at 4.00 pm (3.00 pm local time) at Newcastle’s atmospheric St James’ Park.
