
"I'm delighted with the draw," managing director sport Simon Rolfes told members of the media after the draw, adding: "In sporting terms, of course, both are top opponents, but on the one hand we're up against two former players of ours in Kai Havertz and Piero Hincapie and on the other we're playing on the European stage. That's what you compete for in the Champions League." Rolfes sees a lot of quality in the Arsenal squad, "physically and in terms of football. That's why they're a top favourite to win the Champions League and the Premier League and why it's fun to compete with them."
The first leg against the Premier League leaders is at home at the BayArena on Wednesday, 11 March (kick-off: 18:45 CET). The second leg in London will take place a week later on Tuesday, 17 March (kick-off: 21:00 CET).
Tickets for the home clash go on sale on Tuesday, 3 March at 12:00 CET.
Tickets for the second leg at Arsenal will be available from Thursday, 5 March (12:00 CET). As usual, Bayer 04 will publish all further information on the club media channels. The possible pairings in the quarter-finals and semi-finals were also determined during the draw on Friday afternoon. The quarter-finals will take place on 7/8 and 14/15 April. The semi-finals will be played on 28/29 April and 5/6 May. The final in Budapest is on 30 May.
