Werkself start new Bundesliga season against Paderborn

The Werkself start the pre-season on Monday at the same time as the official start to the 2019/20 campaign. The first competitive match is the DFB Cup tie at Alemannia Aachen on 10 August with the team led by coach Peter Bosz opening the league season a week later against newly promoted SC Paderborn at the BayArena (17/18 August). That was announced by the German Football League (DFL) on Friday afternoon.

Matchday four (13 to 15 September) sees a reunion with Julian Brandt in Dortmund against BVB, matchday 13 (19 November to 2 December) brings the clash with the champions of Germany Bayern Munich  and matchday 15 (13 to 15 December) is derby day against FC Köln – the first half of the season game is in Cologne.

U19s lose 1-0 to unbeaten Inter Milan

The Bayer 04 U19 team lost 1-0 to Inter Milan on the sixth and final matchday in the league phase of the UEFA Youth League 2024/25. The only goal of the game was scored just after the hour mark. While the side from North Italy have finished top in the league phase with a maximum points return, the Leverkusen team appeared to have just missed out on the knockout stages of the European competition. There is faint hope looking to several games to follow where results are needed to go the way of the Werkself.
