The Werkself have never lost at home to Union, conceding only three goals in six such games. Regardless of location, Leverkusen have lost only one of the 14 competitive meetings between the clubs, winning nine and drawing five.
Hjulmand is also still yet to taste defeat in charge of Bayer 04. A return of seven points from three games is the third-best start by a Werkself coach in the Bundesliga.
As part of the match against Union, Bayer 04 is conducting a survey on fan travel. The voluntary survey is conducted via an online questionnaire that can be completed in the stadium. QR codes for the survey will be displayed on the scoreboards and screens in the stadium. In addition, all stadium visitors will receive a link via the Bayer 04 app and newsletter, which they can use to participate in the survey even after the match.
The survey is anonymous. All participants who voluntarily enter their email address will be entered into a draw to win a signed Werkself jersey after the survey is completed.
Fan mobility on matchdays is the biggest emission factor for professional football clubs. The last mobility survey in 2023 provided valuable information and is now to be updated so that Bayer 04 can continue to commit to climate-friendly mobility based on current data. The information is of great importance for managing and optimising environmental efforts in the context of mobility. Thank you for participating!

During the break, several fan clubs will be honoured for their loyalty to the club in the area around the dugouts. Bayer 04 will recognise their long-standing commitment of 10 and 15 years respectively and looks forward to many more successful seasons.
Steffen Baumgart’s side have made a decent start to the season, sitting just one point behind Leverkusen thanks to some impressive counter-attacking performances. Their two new men up front, Oliver Burke and Ilyas Ansah, have made the most of their few chances, while Andrej Ilic has emerged as their top provider, setting up four of their eight goals this season. However, the Berliners haven’t been as tight at the back as they once were, conceding 11 goals in their five matches already. Despite shipping three in their last away game at Eintracht Frankfurt, they still came away with a 4-3 victory thanks to their dangerous counters, especially on their travels. His assistants are Stefan Lupp and Alexander Sather, with Frank Willenborg as fourth official and Pascal Müller the VAR.

From his arrival at the airport, the medical and contract signing, right through to photo shoots, his very own trading card and his first interview at the BayArena: Werkself TV followed new signing Afonso Moreira up close on his first day in Leverkusen.
