Match in Hamburg postponed: HSV against Bayer 04 falls victim to weather conditions

Hamburg's Volksparkstadion was closed after a thorough inspection due to weather-related structural risks in the area of the stadium roof.

As announced in a statement from HSV, a rapid thaw posed safety concerns regarding the roof at the Volksparkstadion. The situation changed due to an extreme thaw late on Tuesday afternoon. As HSV went on to write, condensation collected under the snow on the roof membrane, which could not drain off and led to a potential overload. A structural engineer who was called in assessed the situation as a safety risk and the match was postponed in consultation with the DFL.

The fixture will be rearranged as soon as possible.
