Since last Saturday (4 May) it has been possible to vote for the Werkself number 29 on the Sportschau website. Voting will end on Sunday, 19 May 2019 at 19.00 CET.
In addition to Havertz' chip, the goals scored by Matheus Cunha (RB Leipzig), Lucas Röser Dynamo Dresden), Efkan Bekiroglu (1860 Munich) and Kenan Karaman (Fortuna Düsseldorf) have also been nominated.
Alongside team-mate Julian Brandt, Havertz is also a candidate for the Bundesliga Team of the Season. Based on official match data, 40 candidates are selected on the basis of their performances over the course of the season. It is possible to vote for Kai Havertz in the midfield category and for Julian Brandt in the attack category up to 19 May.
And there is more to come: Havertz fans can help the 19 year-old win the award for the April Player of the Month. This will be the first season the Bundesliga has made this award. The vote is carried out by the DFL in cooperation with EA SPORTS FIFA 19. "Calm on the ball, vision, tactical approach – all extremely unusual for such a young player," was the praise from Bundesliga.com for the talented Werkself youngster. "April was up to now the most successful phase of the Bayer 04 Leverkusen forward's career as he scored four goals in one month for the first time. And the Germany international scored some important goals. All four strikes by Havertz in April put the Werkself in the lead each time," was also highlighted.
