DFL confirms matchdays 27 to 29: Away to Gladbach on 23 May
The German Football League (DFL) today announced the details of Bundesliga matchdays 27 to 29.
Bayer 04 are away to Werder Bremen on Monday, 18 May (kick-off: 20.30 CET) in the next match on the road. Saturday 23 May brings another away game against Borussia Mönchengladbach at Borussia Park. The kick-off in the top encounter for a Champions League spot is at 15.30 CET. Over the next week, the Werkself entertain VfL Wolfsburg at the BayArena on Tuesday, 26 May (kick-off: 20.30 CET). Peter Bosz’s team visit SC Freiburg three days later. The kick-off is again at 20.30 CET.
All the matches are behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic. “The next confirmation of fixtures for the Bundesliga and the second division will probably be made next week,” according to the DFL website.

After a commanding first half and a two-goal lead, “we didn’t get back into our game,” summarised Mark Flekken, who featured between the sticks for the first time in two months. Patrik Schick once again proved his nose for goal, bagging a brace. He is now the third-most prolific Bundesliga scorer in the club’s history. Bayer 04 held to 3-3 draw away at Heidenheim
Bayer 04 were held to a 3-3 draw away at Heidenheim despite twice taking the lead on Bundesliga Matchday 27. Malik Tillman and Patrik Schick had given the Werkself a 2-0 advantage in the first half, but Hennes Behrens and a Marvin Pieringer penalty brought the hosts level after the restart. Schick restored the lead not long after. However, Pieringer also struck again in the closing minutes to restrict Leverkusen to just a point away at the Bundesliga’s bottom side.
