Bundesliga: DFL confirms matchdays 16 to 18
The German Football League (DFL) has confirmed timings for Bundesliga matchdays 16 to 18 in the 2020/21 season. The scheduling affects the games against Union Berlin, Borussia Dortmund and VfL Wolfsburg.
After two league matches and a second round DFB Cup tie against Eintracht Frankfurt, the Werkself then have three games within nine days. Bayer 04 are away to Union Berlin on Friday 15 January (kick-off: 20.30 CET). Four days later there is a home game on the Tuesday night against Borussia Dortmund (20.30 CET). In addition, the first match in the second half of the season is also scheduled: The meeting with VfL Wolfsburg will be on Saturday 23 January (15.30 CET), also at the BayArena.

Bayer 04 are back on the pitch. Following the first training sessions, the Werkself play the first pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 18. The match against Oberliga club Sportfreunde Baumberg kicks off at 15:30 CEST in Monheim am Rhein. Fans unable to attend the match can watch head coach Carles Martínez’s first game in charge for free via a livestream at bayer04.de and on the Bayer 04 app, as well as on Werkself.tv (exclusively for members). Andrea Natali joins AZ Alkmaar on permanent deal
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have sold young defender Andrea Natali to AZ Alkmaar on permanent terms. The 18-year-old Italian was on loan at the Dutch club last season, where he mainly played for the reserve team in the second division.
