Werkself start pre-season on 5 July

Key dates for Bayer 04 have been confirmed for the pre-season ahead of the 2018/19 campaign. Following the summer break, head coach Heiko Herrlich 's team will meet up again on 5 July. On that Thursday, the BayArena will be the venue for the traditional performance tests. Four friendlies have already been arranged. The first pre-season game will be played on 18 July and the Werkself squad will set off for the summer training camp in Austria on 29 July.

The following dates are confirmed for this summer's pre-season preparations with others to follow and/or subject to minor changes:

Thursday, 5 July:
Return to training (performance tests at the BayArena)

Wednesday, 18 July:
Friendly against SV Roßbach/Verscheid (District League A) (18.00 CET, Sportplatz 'In der Au' in Roßbach/Wied)

Saturday, 21 July:
Friendly against Sportfreunde Siegen (Oberliga) (15 .00 CET, Leimbach Stadium Siegen)

Tuesday, 24 July:
Friendly against Wuppertaler SV (Regional League) (19.00 CET, Stadion am Zoo Wuppertal)

29 July to 5 August:
Training camp in Zell am See-Kaprun

17 to 20 August:
DFB Cup 2018/19, First Round (draw on 8 June)

Sunday, 19 August:
Season launch event including presentation of Werkself 2018/19 squad (at Neulandpark Leverkusen)

24 to 26 August:
Bundesliga 2018/19, matchday 1

‘The toughest possible draw’: Women kick off DFB Pokal campaign at Viktoria Berlin

A challenging start to what will hopefully be a long journey: The Bayer 04 women’s team kick off their new DFB Pokal campaign on Sunday (14:00 CEST) against second-division leaders FC Viktoria Berlin. Coach Roberto Pätzold expects stiff resistance in the capital – and is counting on his team’s strong away form in the Bundesliga so far this term.

Two more home games on sale: Tickets for Women’s Saturday fixtures now available

Attention Werkself fans: In addition to tickets for the floodlit home match against Werder Bremen, tickets are now also available for the Bayer 04 women’s team’s two subsequent fixtures against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburger SV at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium. Both matches in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga will take place at family-friendly kick-off times on Saturday afternoons. Here is the latest information on matchday ticket sales.
