Florian Wirtz contributed two goals and three assists in four Bundesliga games in January (three wins, one draw). The 21-year-old bagged a brace and an assist in the 3-1 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 18. The Leverkusen playmaker set up both goals in the 2-2 draw at RB Leipzig a week later.
Wirtz – together with Omar Marmoush now at Manchester City – is the best provider in the Bundesliga with nine assists.
Bayer 04 fans can cast their votes up to Sunday, 9 February (23.59 CET). The 21-year-old midfielder is joined by fellow nominees Willi Orban and Xavi Simons (both RB Leipzig), Joshua Kimmich and Michael Olise (both Bayern Munich) and Romano Schmid (Werder Bremen).
The final result is made up as follows: 40% of the weighting comes from fans votes with 30% each from the 18 team captains plus a group of pundits.
Derby time in the Rhineland! After a successful September, the Bayer 04 Women are away to FC Köln on Sunday, 4 October.
