While new signing Alejandro Grimaldo is in the vote for Player of the Month for the first time, it is the second nomination for Victor Boniface. The striker won the vote last month and was also named Rookie of the Month in August. Boniface is again in the vote for the latter award for September.
Bayer 04 fans have up to Sunday 15 October at 23.59 CEST to cast their vote. The other nominations in addition to Boniface and Grimaldo are Leroy Sané, Harry Kane (both Bayern Munich), Chris Führich and Serhou Guirassy (both VfB Stuttgart). The final result is made up as follows: 40% of the weighting comes from fans votes plus 30% each for the 18 team captains and a panel of pundits.
Boniface scored two braces and provided an assist in the Bundesliga matches in September, left-back Grimaldo scored twice from free kicks in September and also laid on two assists.
Derby time in the Rhineland! After a successful September, the Bayer 04 Women are away to FC Köln on Sunday, 4 October. In the Bundesliga match kicking off at 18:30 CEST at the Franz Kremer Stadium (live on MagentaSport and DAZN), coach Roberto Pätzold is counting on the return of a number of players who have been absent through injury.
