UEFA medical congress: Elite Club Injury Study comes to Leverkusen

This week sees the final meeting of the UEFA Elite Club Injury Study (ECIS) being held in Leverkusen for the first time. The renowned and internationally significant UEFA study provides clubs with reliable data on injuries to enable comparison with similar teams as well as improvements in their work. Doctors and fitness coaches from premier European teams from the UEFA Champions League plus other selected top European teams will attend the congress.

The final meeting of the ECIS is in Leverkusen on Tuesday 4 June and Wednesday 5 June. Dr. Karl-Heinrich Dittmar, medical director at Bayer 04 will take part in the meeting as host on behalf of Bayer 04. For the first time this year, the meetings of the men’s and women’s Elite Club Injury Study will be combined. The studies were previously held separately.

After eight years, Ida Daedelow is set to leave Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The 18-year-old, whose original contract was due to run to 2027, is joining second-division side VfL Bochum.
