We feel a deep connection with you and we hope to leave some of that connection here in North America when we go back to Germany.”
Bayer colleagues were then able to take photos and selfies with the silverware and meet Nowotny, who was a member of Germany’s 2006 World Cup team and was named an honorary captain for the team at the most recent home game. “Our success story last year, is also your story,” Carro told those in attendance.

The visit to Bayer kicked off a three-day trophy tour for the Meisterschale, DFB Pokal and Supercup that includes a “Champions Night” reception with partners, visits to MetLife Stadium - site of the 2026 World Cup final - and Manhattan city tour for the trophies. Carro and Nowotny will also meet with NJ Governor Phil Murphy and key media.
